Famous Punjabi singer Balkar Sidhu, who had joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), will join the Congress tomorrow.
After the joining ceremony of Deepinder Dhillon and Harinder Pal (Harry) Mann, in Chandigarh today, state Congress co-incharge Harish Chaudhary told the mediapersons, “We will be meeting here again when a special person will join the party. Same place and same time tomorrow.”
Talking to The Tribune over phone, the singer said: “I will be joining the Congress tomorrow. I am convinced with Capt Amarinder Singh’s roadmap for bringing Punjab out of the ongoing crisis on several fronts.”
Balkar was named AAP candidate for the Talwandi Sabo byelections in 2014, but his nomination was withdrawn. The singer then contested the election as a rebel candidate.
