Loreto Convent Tara Hall students presented “Sporty Spectacle”, a spectacular show of yoga, karate, skating and aerobics at its annual function held here today.
The students presented each item with precision and accuracy on the beats of the drum and melodic music. The scintillating performances were applauded by the parents, who had turned up to cheer the students in a large number.
The display of karate, with several students being black and yellow belts, was well-received as it showed how girls could attain mastery in self-defence. The skating show was nothing short of precision, grace, elegance and poise personified.
The yoga show with students seated on colourful mats, exhibiting their yogic skills, only reiterated the fact that “yoga” is undoubtedly the key to health living, in today’s stressful living. Dr Neelam Bali, a psychologist, was the Chief Guest. She laid stress on women empowerment and how girls could be trained and taught to be independent as they stepped out of the school. School Principal Sister Stephanie Rodrigues lauded the effort put in by the students and teachers to put up a brilliant show.
