Annual sports day at Doon Girls School

The Doon Girls School and Dehradun Boys School organised its 5th annual sports day here today.
Lt Col R Richardson, Assistant Administrative and Training Officer at the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), was the chief guest on the occasion.
The day started with the march past followed by various track events, yoga, skating, karate and aerobics display.
Children performed artistic yoga which is a new concept of yoga designed to energise the body.
Students Bharat Thakur, Oshin Likha and Drema Choikee have earlier won gold medals for artistic yoga in the district yoga event.
Students performed various kicks and fights and also broke tiles under the expert guidance of Md Hamid Farooqi.
Skating was accompanied by live-singing by Stuti Bhukania and Savi Singh.
Badal, Kushagra, Yug stood first, second, and third, respectively in long jump.
Kashvi, Saumya, Saunya bagged gold, silver, and bronze medal, respectively in shot put under class-IV and Tanisha, Anushka, and Nishtha stood first, second and third, respectively under class-V category.
Chairman CP Dang, Hari Singh, Director, Indira Goswami and students along with their parents were present in the function.
