Dehradun, April 4
SGRR College of Nursing started their annual sports and cultural programme ‘Athlema and Cultural Fest-16’ here today. Students showed their sporting talent on the first day of the festival. The sports events will be held till April 6 and cultural programmes will be organized from April 7 to 9.
The event was inaugurated by GS Rana, manager of Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission. Rana, in his address to the gathering, emphasized the significance of sports for leading a healthy life. The students of nursing college took out an impressive march past at the start of the event.
In 100m race, BSc nursing second year student Irshad secured the first position while Nitish and Shubham secured the second and third position, respectively. In girls 100m race, Anjani of GNM, a second year student, got the first place while second and third positions went to Nutan and Himani, respectively. In shot-put, Akhilesh of BSc nursing 4th year student was the winner while in the girls shot put, Sakshi of BSc nursing 2nd year student got the first place.
