St. Anne's School, Sector 32, drubbed Holy Child School, Mohali, 20-4 in the opening match of St. Kabir Basketball Trophy here today.
Kunjal contributed 12 points to the total, while for the Mohali outfit Bhumika gathered four points.
Saupin's School, Sector 32, meanwhile, beat Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36, 10-4, with Nyliza shooting eight points for the winners. Khushi scored all the four points for Guru Nanak School.
Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, registered a 14-0 win over Chitkara International School, Sector 25.
In the boys' category, hosts St. Kabir School posted a 29-13 victory over Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26. Arshneil scored a maximum 16 points, while Ishtpreet contributed six points to the total. For Strawberry Fields, Shaurya gathered eight points.
Chitkara School thumped Saupin's School 34-16 as Gurteghveer and Manik scored 11 points each for the winners.
For Saupin's School, Ojas shot nine points while Sehaj contributed three points.
St. Peter School, Sector 37, beat Holy Child School 20-16. Samar scored a maximum 10 points for St. Peter, while Aryan added six points to the total. For Holy Child, Amandeep scored 10 points.
Saupin's boys triumph
Saupin's School, meanwhile, beat St. Stephen's School, Sector 45, by a solitary goal to lift the St. Kabir Football Trophy.
Jaskirat scored the only goal of the match in the 8th minute.
In another match, St. Kabir School blanked Saupin's School, Mohali, 9-0, with Angad Jagdev scoring five goals for the winners.
Angad scored in 3rd, 30th, 33rd, 36th and 48th minutes, while Pranay Goel struck in the 15th and 38th minutes of the game.
Lakshay Chopra (11th) and Punay (45th) added a goal each to help St. Kabir steamroll Saupin's boys.
St. John's School, Sector 26, meanwhile, overcame Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, 1-0. Amarvir scored the lone goal of the match in the 45th minute.
