Bus owner booked

The Mandi police have booked a bus owner for running the bus without a route permit and fake registration number (HP-33E-9900).

The bus was hired by IIT-Mandi for carrying students of the institute between Mandi and Kamand last year.

On September 3, the Mandi police impounded a bus engaged for transporting students to IIT campus in Kamand as the bus driver was unable to produce the registration certificate (RC) and route permit. The police impounded the bus under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicle Act.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
