Schoolgirl gang-raped

Fatehabad, February 12

Three youths from nearby Alika village gang-raped a minor girl after kidnapping her from Kalotha village of Fatehabad last night.

The police have booked the youths — Inderjit, Harvinder and Sukhcharan — in this connection, said Raj Bala, SHO of the local women’s police station

Sources said the girl, a student of 10th standard, lived in Kalotha but had come to Alika to attend her school.

While Sukhcharan worked in Ratia courts as an assistant, the other two played DJ at weddings. One of the three accused, who knew the girl, called her out of her house last night and took her to Alika village on his motorcycle. She was taken to Harvinder’s house where the three youths raped her.

When the youths went to Kalotha to leave the girl in the early hours today, members of the girl’s family who had been looking for her throughout the night tried to nab them. However, the youths dumped the girl and sped away under cover of darkness. — TNS
