Students visit Gurukul Kangri University, ancient museum

Students of Mount Litera Zee School visited the ancient museum of Gurukul Kangri University on a study tour today. They were informed about various aspects of the museum and were taken on a tour of the 100-year-old university.
Coordinator Prakash Chand Joshi said the visit was organised to apprise children about the ancient history and historical facts, legacy, items and artifacts placed in the museum.
Himanshu Pundit, Head of the Archaeology Department, Gurukul Kangri University, said all schools should arrange such visits for the students so that they know about the ancient history and legacy of the country.
Mount Litera Zee School manager Aarti Gupta said on a regular basis, the schoolchildren are made to tour such places as on field visits enhance their knowledge and vision.
The children showed interest in the collections of coins, terracotta, pottery artifacts, paintings, rare photographs, manuscripts, metal artifacts and literature, she added.
School staff members Punit Kalra, Pratiksha Kalra, Ankit Kumar, Dr Suchi, Suman Bharadwaj, Oma Bharadwaj and Dolly Malhotra accompanied the children.
