Taxi bill scam: Health Dept’s chargesheet to 10 doctors

The Department of Health has issued charge sheet to 10 senior health officers for their alleged role in theRs 1.5 crore taxi bill scam.

The doctors who have been served charge sheet are Dr RK Pant, Dr Meenu Rawat, Dr GC Baunthiyal, Dr RS Aswal, Dr YS Rana, Dr SP Agarwal, Dr Surinder Saklani, Dr Rakesh Kumar Sinha, Dr BK Agarwal and Dr Deepa Sharma.

Of them, some doctors, including Dr RK Pant, Dr GC Baunthial and Dr Deepa Sharma, have retired, and two others have died.

These doctors will have to reply to the charges within 15 days.

A inquiry report by Joint Secretary RR Singh had already indicted 12 senior doctors and personal secretaries of the former Chief Ministers Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Vijay Bahuguna.
