Panchkula, December 15

A woman staying in Sector 26 allegedly killed her autistic daughter and a son with the help of her paramour. The woman, Mukesh Kumari, who was arrested by the Jind police told the police that she wanted to marry her paramour Shekhar and the kids were a hurdle.

Panchkula Assistant Commissioner of Police (HQ) Dalip Singh confirming the incident said that they have got a communiqué from the Jind police and now the accused would be brought here on production warrant.

The ACP said Mukesh Kumari and her husband Manoj were residents of Sector 26. On October 2, when Manoj was out of station, Mukesh informed him on the phone that their daughter Gulpreet (12) was not well. By the time he reached home, the girl was dead and Manoj was told that the girl died of illness. The family moved to Sunderpur village in Jind district, the native place of Manoj to cremate Gulpreet.

After cremation, the family decided to stay at the village only. Shekhar also followed them and on November 29, body of Gurjant (10,) son of Manoj and Mukesh, was found lying on a road. After the post-mortem examination, it was revealed that the child was strangulated.

On suspicion, the police questioned Mukesh, who spilled the beans following which both the accused were arrested by the Jind police, said the ACP.
