Demanding an underpass on the national highway , residents of the Kalayat area disrupted traffic on the Ramgarh – Pandva road and the NH. As a result, vehicles remained stranded in a traffic jam for about two hours
A heavy police force remained was deployed near the blockade site to meet any eventuality . Om Parkash Devrala, SDM, and Satish Gautam, DSP rushed to the spot to pacify the protesters .
The protesters told the two officials that they had been making this demand for months now but no one had cared to listen to them, forcing them to resort to an agitation. The SDM and the DSP managed to persuade the protesters to end their blockade on the promising that the higher authorities would be apprised of their demands.
The protesters dispersed but threatened to launch an agitation if their demand for linking Kalayat with Ramgarh village was not met. OC
