Tributes paid to Omkar Sharma

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today participated in a prayer meeting organized at Bathu village of Haroli Assembly segment by Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri to pay tribues to his late father and former Vice-Chairman of Agro Packaging Corporation, Omkar Sharma, who breathed his last at his house in Rakkar Colony on March 27 after a prolonged illness.
He termed Omkar Sharma as a man of values and principles. He said after retirement from the state government as District Public Relations Officer in 1989, Omkar joined English print media after which he joined politics to serve the people of Santoshgarh segment, from where he contested as the Congress candidate. Later, he was nominated as vice chairman of Agro Packaging Corporation.
Omkar Sharma’s sons Dr Rakesh Agnihotri and Mukesh Agnihotri, daughter in laws Dr Sunita and Dr Simmi, daughters Suman, Brij Bala and Sumriti and their family members were present on the occasion.
Transport minister GS Bali, Agriculture minister Sujan Singh Pathania, state Congress chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu, ex-MP Pratibha Singh, Chief Parliamentary Secreatries Mansa Ram, Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, Rajesh Dharmani, Vinay Kumar and ID Lakhanpal; MLAs Rakesh Kalia, Sanjay Rattan and Yadavindra Gomma; 20-point programme chief Ram Lal Thakur besides bureaucrats and locals also attended the prayer meeting.
