New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress is all set to contest the Punjab elections with state party chief Jagmeet Brar today submitting a list of probable candidates to the TMC leadership. "I am meeting TMC chief Mamata Banerjee here on Tuesday. She will take a call on the future strategy. But we are contesting the elections," Brar said on Monday. On anticipated alliance with AAP, Brar said the Trinamool had made efforts for a pre-poll tie-up with AAP, but AAP had gone ahead and declared 105 candidates in Punjab. “I was with senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh in Sanaur for campaigning jointly for the AAP candidate. A day later, they declared candidates in segments where we have formidable nominees. Though the pre-poll alliance chapter is not closed, we are ready to go it alone if our president says,” Brar, a former Congress leader and MP said. West Bengal Chief Minister Banerjee is meeting her Delhi counterpart and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi on Tuesday; Punjab alliance likely to be discussed.  — Aditi Tandon
