The third phase of the Rock Garden will have two waterfalls that are expected to come up in the next six months. Also, the UT Administration today reemphasised the need to complete the exit route from the phase 3 of the Rock Garden at the earliest.

Several years after Nek Chand expressed unhappiness over the apathy of the UT Administration towards the development of the Rock Garden, the garden seems to have finally caught the fancy of the officers here. A team of UT Administration officials led by UT Adviser Vijay Dev and Home-cum-Tourism Secretary Anurag Aggarwal took a round of the garden this morning to see the progress of the repair and maintenance works.

“They will provide us the manpower for the work related to the third phase. We have submitted our basic plan and now the budget estimation and allocation will be done by the administration,” said Anuj Saini, Nek Chand’s son.

The UT Administration had earlier approved a project for the illumination of the Rock Garden that shuts at 5 pm everyday with an aim to extend the visiting hours to 10 pm.
