A bodybuilding championship was organised by the Iron Rush fitness club in collaboration with Nutrition Heart here.
Nahih Shah won the title of “Junior Mr J&K”, Sandeep Verma “Senior Mr J&K”, Raj Kumar “Men’s Physique” Mohd Arif Qureshi from Uttar Pradesh “Mr Iron Rush Classique 2017”.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, was the chief guest. Sham Chowdhary, Minister for PHE, Sat Sharma, state president of the BJP, and Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA from Samba and chief patron of the event, presided over the function.
Organised at Greater Kailash, the event witnessed heavy rush and warm applause from the audience.
Apart from the four main titles, the title of “Best Poser of the Event” was given to Devanshu Verma and “Most Improved Bodybuilder of the State” to Aditya Kundal.
The event was conducted under the guidelines of the Indian Body Building and Fitness Federation (IBBFF). Sunil Walia, vice-president, IBBFF, and Naveen Yadav, North India general secretary, were the chief judges. Mukesh Yadav, Sheru and Haji Mohsin were supporting judges of the event.
There were total 310 participants in the championship, out of which 120 came from outside the state.
Cash prizes worth Rs 3.5 lakh were distributed among the winners of the championship. Apart from the prize money, gifts worth Rs 10,000 each were given to the winners and gifts worth Rs 5,000 each were given to all the participants.
Pushpinder Bharti, international bodybuilder of the state, managed the event.
