The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has refused to provide the question papers and answer keys of Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET-2015) to aspirants.
For the last two weeks, medical aspirants have been demanding that these documents be provided to them to bring about transparency in the MBBS and BDS admission process. Aspirants say making information public would help them clear doubts about the mistakes in the question paper.
The university authorities said all doubtful questions were already examined by a panel of subject experts and candidates would be granted equal benefit.
Dr Raj Bahadur, Vice-Chancellor, BFUHS, said the university was following the pattern of two deemed universities - PGIMER, Chandigarh, and AIIMS, New Delhi, - that did not provide question papers and answer keys to each aspirant.
Many aspirants demand that the information be uploaded on the Internet just as the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) had done after conducting the All-India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT). The BFUHS authorities said they did not want to make the question papers public as coaching centres would publish these for aspirants preparing for the exam.
