Ludhiana: An informative workshop for teachers was organised at BCM Basant City. More than 250 teachers from the BCM institutions attended the workshop. The resource person was Surya Narain Bahadur. He focused on personal empowerment, efficiency, time management and interpersonal relationships. A Powerpoint presentation and videos were shown to help teachers understand the concepts well. Members of the management committee stressed the need for updating and upgrading knowledge for effective teaching.

Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations

Students and staff of BBSB Convent School, Sidhwan Bet, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi on the campus. The campus was decorated with flowers and ribbons. Principal Anita and management members took part in the Ganesh pooja. Modaks and laddoos were distributed to the students and staff.

World Literacy Day celebrated

World Literacy Day was celebrated at Ryan International School, Jamalpur Road. Students from Montessori to fifth standard participated in various activities. The Montessori wing took part in exercises and quiz based on patterns, shapes recognition, ‘reading’ as activity and ‘dictionary reading’. The students participated in the celebrations with enthusiasm. Principal Gurpal Kaur Anand said such activities enhanced the vocabulary of students and develop in them the habit of self-study, which is a prerequisite to academic excellence and learning

Students celebrate PM’s birthday

Students and staff of Ryan International School on Friday celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on the school premises. Students of Montessori wing wrote birthday wishes. Other students prepared birthday strings on the occasion. Headmistress of the school Ritu Syal said: “Our Prime Minister is a great motivation for all as he always motivate us to do hard work. He says to serve the nation, age is not a limit.”

Teacher training workshop

Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, organised a four-hour session on English Language Teaching for Pre-Primary and Primary Teachers. More than 40 teachers participated in the session. Resource person for the session was Anil Kumar. He focused on effective methods, practical ideas and activities that can be implemented in classroom situations. The themes included developing skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing and how to facilitate a smooth transition from the pre-primary to the primary level. It was an interactive session focused on activities and engaging ways to teach grammar in a way that helps learners to remember and produce it in their communicative language. Principal Gurmant Kaur Gill proposed a vote of thanks to the keynote speaker and said such workshops update the language skills of teachers.—TNS
