Writer Javaid Rahi felicitated

Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, felicitated Javaid Rahi, a reputed writer of the state and chief editor of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, here today.

The honours were done by Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor, at a function held in connection with the 12th foundation day of the university. A number of dignitaries, faculty members, scholars, artists and students were in the programme and Rahi’s felicitation was done by the university for his contribution to the cultural heritage of J&K. As a prolific writer, Rahi has written over 12 books and compiled five dictionaries. He has also edited more than 300 books and issues of journals published in English, Urdu, Gojri and other regional languages. — TNS
