Film‘Gulab Gatha’ screened for students

As a befitting tribute to Maharaja Gulab Singh on his 227th birth anniversary, the first ever film on Maharaja Gulab Singh was screened for the audience so that they were made aware of the history of the region.

On the first day, the film was screened thrice for the students of Model Academy, NCC cadets and for the general audience at Abhinav theatre. The film will also be screened for the students of the SPMR College of Commerce, Government College for Women, Parade, IIT, Jammu, and KC International School.Entitled as ‘Gulab Gatha’, this film by Balwant Thakur is produced by Natrang and sponsored by Maharaja Gulab Singh Memorial Trust, Jammu. Sharing details, Balwant Thakur said this would be a unique venture aimed at documentation and dissemination of the untold glorious history of the state of Jammu & Kashmir.

He thanked Karan Singh, Congress leader for inspiring him and believing in his abilities to write, produce and direct the first ever firm on Dogra History. The lead role is played by TV artist Sunil Kumar Palwal.
