Focusing on intensity: Marijne
Hockey India CEO Elena Norman talks to India players during the team’s practice session at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. Chief coach Sjoerd Marijne today emphasised on speed and tactical training as the hosts had their first training session ahead of the Hockey World League Final, which starts on December 1.
“The focus is to get the intensity higher as we approach match day. Our preparations have been really good with the 18-day national camp in Bengaluru but there is scope to get our level higher ahead of the tournament. We play short matches among ourselves so we keep the guys in match momentum,” said Marijne after the 90-minute training session.
Before the tournament, India will play practice matches against Olympics champions Argentina and England on November 27 and 28, respectively. PTI
