Four arrested for betting in Khanna

The Khanna police claimed to have arrested four persons on the charge of betting on England and Pakistan match yesterday.
The accused have been identified as Naresh Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Sanjeev Verma and Monty, all residents of Khanna. Khanna Superintendent of police (I) Jasvir Singh and DSP JS Cheema told the media that the Khanna police had a tip-off that the accused were luring people to bet and cheating them.
A team, headed by Khanna Station House Officer Jagdish Raj, raided Monty’s house and arrested them with laptop and mobiles. A case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, 13-A/3/67 of the Gambling Act has been registered. The accused were presented in a local court which remanded them in judicial custody.
