100 candidates qualify HPAS main exam

The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) declared the result of the main written examination of the HP Administrative and Allied Services (HPAS)-2013 here today.
In all, 43,379 applications were received for the admission to the aforesaid examination as against 31,363 who had applied last year.
Out of the 43,379 candidates, 39,027 were admitted provisionally.
As many as 20,784 candidates appeared in the HPAS preliminary examination-2013 held on June 15, 2014.
As many as 676 candidates qualified for the main written examination and 516 candidates appeared in the exam held from October 11, 2014, to November 3, 2014.
Expressing satisfaction over the timely declaration of result of the HPAS Combined Competitive Examination, KS Tomar, Chairman, HPPSC, said due to the coordinated efforts and systematic planning, the one-year gap in declaring the final result of the main examination stood eliminated.
He said the interviews would start tentatively by December 26 and advertisement for fresh posts of the HPAS and other services would be published in the newspapers in January 2015.
“It is an achievement for the commission to restore the schedule which will save one year of the aspirants,” he said.
The HPPSC had started a toll-free centre on August 24, 2013, to enable the Government to Citizen (G2C) interface for the quick delivery of information.
“The toll-free number 1800-180-8004 is being answered by a team of help centre executives on every working day and the calls are attended by experienced and skilled professionals,” he added.
He said 31,363 applications were received in 2012, out of which 4,197 (13.39 per cent) were rejected. In HPAS-2013 examination, 43,379 applications were received and 4,352 (10.03 per cent) were rejected. Hundred candidates have qualified the main written examination.
