ADC finds 13 officials absent during surprise check

The casual approach of some government officials was exposed during a surprise check by the Avneet Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), General, Mohali, today.

During the checking, Avneet Kaur found as many as 13 officials, including District Food and Supplies Controller (DFSC) Renu Bala, missing from the office.

“Apart from the DFSC, five senior officials and some other staff members, were not present in their office at the time of the checking. The list of the officials has been prepared and sent to the senior authorities for action,” said ADC Avneet Kaur.

Deputy Commissioner DS Mangat said he had received the list of the officials.

“I will take disciplinary action against them at the earliest. Such checks will continue in future,” the Mohali Deputy Commissioner said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Avneet Kaur visited offices of 14 government departments at the District Administrative Complex in Sector 76 this morning.

According to sources, higher officials have drawn up an action plan to identify the officials and staff at various departments, who remain absent during the duty hours.
