After taking charge, Joshi said he would ensure proper implementation of government schemes in the City Beautiful. He said officials of the Chandigarh Administration were doing a good job, but his priority would be to bring more transparency in the functioning of the Estate Office.

On his posting in Chandigarh, he said it was his first posting in the city. Earlier, he was posted as Deputy Commissioner in various districts of Haryana. He said working in Chandigarh would be totally different as it is a union territory and people in the city were well educated and their expectations from officials were also high.

Developed software to eliminate paperwork

Joshi has developed a software to “eliminate” paperwork. He is an electrical engineer from Sardar Patel Engineering College, Mumbai, and chose the civil services over software giant Infosys. He also imparts education to children of migrant workers. He has educated over 15,000 children through innovative ideas.

Joshi’s wife is Jind ADC

Ajit Balaji Joshi’s wife Gauri Parashar, a 2009-batch Odisha-cadre IAS officer, is presently posted as the ADC, Jind. Gauri is the daughter of Manjula Prashar, who is at present posted as Information Commissioner with the Central Information Commission. Joshi’s father-in-law RN Parashar is a retired IAS officer of the Haryana cadre and served as the Principal Adviser to former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda after his retirement in 2009 and later as chairman of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission.
