Architects submit memo

Patiala, May 20

The Indian Institute of Architects (Patiala sub center) and Patiala Architects Association submitted a memorandum to state Cabinet Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra against the decision of the government to abolish the Patiala Development Authority (PDA) and merging its areas with Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA). Architect LR Gupta said the move would halt development in Patiala, which is otherwise included in the list of smart cities.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
