Bali lifts cap on pulses distribution

Food and Civil Supplies, Transport and Technical Education Minister GS Bali today said the state government had decided to provide all three varieties of pulses to small families from next month from the civil supply depots.

Bali was addressing a press conference at his residence here. He said earlier three varieties of pulses were given to families comprising more than five members, two varieties to a family comprising three to five members and one variety pulses to the small family.

He said by providing this facility to people, the state exchequer would bear the burden of Rs 30 crore annually.

He said from the next academic session, four trades would start in the Hydro-Engineering College at Bilaspur, a project of Rs 140 crore. He said the construction of the Rs 25 crore building for pharma college at Nagrota Bagwan would start shortly.

An HRTC depot would be constructed near Mallan. He said the Civil Supplies Department would open five petrol pumps in the state.

He said all ration card holders would get digital ration cards now. He said 5 per cent interim relief to corporation employees would be given.
