Children to get playgrounds

Soon, children in Panchkula will get a place to play. In a meeting with a few residents welfare associations (RWAs), Municipal Commissioner SP Arora, who is also the Additional Deputy Commissioner, suggested that one of the neighbourhood parks in every sector should be designated as a playground.

Arora said: “I have asked the RWAs to voluntarily come up with one park in each sector that can be designated as a playground. Children need a place to play.”

“Playing is an essential activity for children. After various suggestions, this decision was taken in the meeting,” he said.

Recently, the court provided interim relief to four children of Sector 7 here, who filed a case in a local court against park development committees, the Municipal Corporation and HUDA for not allowing them to play in any park.
