Civil judges visit Law College

Dehradun, January 29

The Uttaranchal PCS (J) 2012 batch civil judges today visited Law College Dehradun as part of their training programme being organised under the guidance of the Uttarakhand Judicial Academy, Nainital, and the National Centre for Good Governance, Mussoorie.

The civil judges were provided information about the situation vis-a-vis the Bar Council of India’s norms regarding imparting of legal education. The details about the moot court and legal awareness programme conducted at the college were also given. An interactive session between civil judges and law college students was held.

Law College principal Dr Rajesh Bahuguna said the judicial officers were given due honour in Uttarakhand. He spoke about the reasons that led to the creation of Uttarakhand.

Additional Director of the Uttarakhand Judicial Academy Subir Kumar said to be a good judge, it was important to be a good human being first. Course coordinator of the National Centre for Good Governance Dr BS Bisht, university Chancellor Jitendra Joshi and faculty members of Law College were present on the occasion.
