Haridwar, May 9
Ganga Action Family activists today organised a cleanliness-cum plantation drive in the Raiwala Army Cantt area.
The activists collected garbage, plastic, polythene and waste material and dumped it at the designated sites. The Army also provided JCB machines and trucks for the cleanliness drive.
Swami Chidanand Muni of Ganga Action Family, along with Parmarth Gurukul students, local residents and activists, cleaned Raiwala railway station and nearby areas.
Brig Sandeep Sood, Rishikesh MLA Prem Chand Aggarwal and students of Army Public School, Guru Nanak Public High School, Gangotri Vidya Niketan, PG College and Seema Dental College also contributed in the cleanliness drive.
As many as 108 saplings were planted on the occasion. It will be looked after by Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh.
Col Ritesh Kumar, Col Manoj Singh, Col Aifo Vaz, Lt Colonel Prabhat, Aarti Sood, Sudhanshu Vaj, Shweta, Ankita, Dr Sandeep Shastri, Vinit Kumar and Nandini Tripathi also participated in the drive.
