Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has announced Rs 3 crore for the repair of 21 Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam guest houses in the state.
Reviewing works of the Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) at Bijapur Guest House, the Chief Minister told the GMVN to increase its income resources.
He said in the first phase, Rs 3 crore would be provided for 21 GMVN houses.
He said Rs 2 crore would be provided for the repair work of other GMVN guest houses and resorts.
The GMVN must also focus on online marketing of guest houses to increase its income resources, he said.
He said the GMVN should focus on improving service delivery alone with the development of infrastructural facilities. He also stressed on focusing construction of treking routes and tent colony at Badrinath and Kedarnath.
He also asked to pay special attention on the maintenance of Drona hotel and the Mussoorie guest house.
Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Dinesh Dhanai, Chief Secretary Rakesh Sharma and Principal Secretary Dr Umakant Panwar were also present on the occasion.
