Mandi, April 10
Deva Singh Negi has joined as the Deputy Commissioner in the tribal district of Lahaul Spiti today. He took charge at the DC office in Keylong. Earlier, he was posted as the Director of Land Records in Shimla.
After taking the charge, he said he would try to ensure equal development across the district and all people got the benefit of welfare schemes being run by the government.
The DC said benefits of government schemes would be reached to even remote villages. He said with a better coordination with employees and officers working in the district, the goal of the schemes and development works set by the government would be achieved.
“There is a need to improve the system to ensure better development of the district. There is a possibility of tourism in the valley and his priority would be to provide basic facilities,” he remarked. — TNS
