Yamunanagar, March 30
A joint team of the local administration and the CID sealed a godown at Maheshwari village in the district last night and seized illegal stocks of wheat and rice meant to be supplied to anganwaris.
Sources said 1,197 bags of wheat and 463 bags of rice were found though no officer confirmed it.
According to information, a CID team raided the godown last night and seized huge stocks of wheat and rice. It informed Deputy Commissioner (DC) RS Kharb about the foodgrain stocks.
Kharb immediately formed a team headed by Jagadhri SDM Bharat Bhushan Kaushik that visited the godown and sealed it with the help of the CID team.
Sources said contractor Labh Singh failed to show the stock register to the SDM.
On the other hand, District Food and Supply Controller Surinder Singh said he had formed a committee to investigate the matter. — TNS
