Chandigarh, July 5

The state government has decided to honour a village in each block for achieving general cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin. A cash award of Rs 1 lakh will be given to such gram panchayats. The awards for the month of July will be presented on August 15.

This was revealed in the first meeting of the governing body of the Haryana State Swachh Bharat Mission Society held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar here today. He said similar competitions should also be held among the wards in urban areas. — TNS
