Surendra Kumar, media advisor to Chief Minister Harish Rawat, said an enquiry would be marked in Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) sting video if the state government received a complaint about it in the future.

A sting video of UPCL managing director SS Yadav was released by BJP spokesperson Vinay Goyal two days ago. Yadav was allegedly seen picking a bag full of cash from a table, placed there by an unknown person.

Surendra Kumar refused to comment on the internal posting of the official spokesperson for UPCL. He said it was a departmental matter.

Surendra was addressing mediapersons at a press conference here today.

He said the state BJP leadership should come forward to demand a CBI probe into the theft of Rs 27 lakh from inside the party’s office a few years ago. Also, the nine rebel Congress legislators who had recently joined BJP should apologise in public. The rebels, along with Congress leaders, had submitted a signed memorandum to Governor demanding a CBI probe into the alleged 419 scams reported during the BJP tenure in Uttarakhand, he said.

He also alleged that the BJP leaders were behind the communal tension at Landhaura two days ago.

Instead of demanding a CBI probe on petty issues to gain political mileage, the state BJP leadership should support the Congress-led state government for the overall development of Uttarakhand, Surendra added.
