Ambala, March 4
The toll plaza on the NH-1 on the Haryana-Punjab border near Shambhu village has been shifted to the periphery of Haryana near Devi Nagar village. It started working last midnight.
The National Highways Authority of India had planned to shift this toll plaza in Haryana two years ago. A few months ago, the SC had directed the NHAI to shift Shambhu toll plaza near Devi Nagar village in Haryana after which the process of shifting the plaza had started.
The management of the toll plaza had provided monthly pass facility to villagers residing in the adjoining areas while tractor-trolley and three-wheelers would be exempted from toll tax as earlier. — OC
