Kurukshetra July 24
The Vice-Chancellor’s OSD and five other employees of the VC office have been transferred. The decision has been taken after the report submitted by the three-member committee, which was constituted to investigate as to how some files were allegedly taken from the VC’s office to former VC DDS Sandhu’s residence on Wednesday evening.
However, the report states that only Sandhu’s personal articles were taken to his residence that evening.
Talking to mediapersons, KU acting VC Hardeep Kumar said: “According to the committee’s report, no official files were taken from the office to DDS Sandhu’s residence. It was his personal stuff that was taken from the VC’s office. However, the way it was done was objectionable and action has been taken against the office staff in this context.”
While the Vice-Chancellor’s OSD OP Ahuja has been suspended, superintendent Virender Kundu, Narender Neema, Pawan, Pankaj and Vijay Kumar have been transferred with immediate effect. Controller of Examination Pankaj Gupta has been given charge as OSD to the VC.
On the other hand, former Vice-Chancellor DDS Sandhu said: “It is an attempt to defame me. I have sent a letter to the Chancellor and Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki and a copy of that letter to VC Hardeep Kumar in this context.” He said: “The Vice-Chancellor is not supposed to retain any file. Had I any such intention, I would have taken the files anytime between July 17 to July 21 as I resigned on July 17.”
