Rs12 cr for Sahnewal development

Punjab Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said there was no shortage of funds for development projects in the state. He said grants worth Rs 12 crore have already been distributed in several villages of the Sahnewal constituency over the last 10 days and more funds would be provided soon.
Dhillon said this while addressing a gathering during his Sangat Darshan programme in several villages of the Sahnewal constituency.
He distributed grants worth Rs 1.5 crore in Dholanwal, Salempur, Kalewal, Haidranhar, Garcha, Bore, Bonkar Gujjran, Selkiana, Sekhewal, Madian Kalan, Madian Khurd and Kulian villages for various development works of these villages.
The minister assured villagers that their villages would soon become one of the best in the state. He assured them that there was no shortage of funds for carrying out development projects, while asserting that his main emphasis was on making Sahnewal a modal constituency of the state and that was why many development projects had been started here.
He urged residents to keep a close watch on development projects which were to start in their villages. He said not even a single penny ought to be misused and that was why, the villagers should keep a close watch for proper utilisation of public money.
Dhillon asked village population to bring to his notice if there was any misutilisation of funds meant for development so that the guilty could be brought to book.
Dhillon said Sangat Darshan programmes were being carried out in all villages of his constituency in a phased manner. He said he and his team would keep on visiting these villages and would keep a tab on all ongoing works.
