Mohali, February 2

Two-day grievance redressal camps, organised at head offices of PUDA/GMADA, GLADA, PDA, JDA, ADA and BDA, concluded today. The second day was devoted to resolving problems faced by the colonisers, promoters, contractors and allottees of plots/flats in projects of private builders.

Of the total 46 applications received by various authorities, 29 belonged to GMADA, followed by seven to the JDA, four each to the ADA  and the PDA and one each to GLADA and the BDA.

During the camp organised at PUDA Bhawan, Mohali, four applications were received regarding development works. Issues relating to shifting of electrical poles in Aero City were put forth by the general public.

A request for the construction of roads at TDI City and another for the construction of a road in Sector 104 were made by developers of the areas concerned.

Ravi Bhagat, Chief Administrator, PUDA/GMADA, asked the engineering wing to come up with details for the execution of these works.

Three applications concerning the office of the Estate Office (Regulatory) were received. These were regarding the regularisation of a colony in Fatehgarh Sahib, regularisation of a plot in a colony at Dera Bassi and the regularisation of a hotel in Sirhind.

Some allottees having plots in Preet City, Mohali, complained against the developer of the project for not handing over the possession of plots to them. Similar complaints were received against developers of  TDI City, Sunny Enclave and RKM City in Mohali.

Vini Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Punjab, said the purpose of holding these camps was to provide a common platform to various stakeholders where they could bring their problems in the notice of the department. “On the spot decision has been taken on some complaints and the offices concerned shall take action in next 15 days on the remaining complaints and submit reports to their head office,” she said.

“Taking a note of the success of the camps, it has been decided that now onwards all authorities shall hold grievance redressal camps on the first working day of every month at their respective offices,”added  Mahajan.
