Gursewak Singh college hoopsters win

Patiala, October 15

Professor Gursewak Singh Government College of Physical Education, Patiala, beat University College, Dhilwan, 40-21 in the final league match to win the inter-college basketball tournament for girls held at Government Mohindra College here today. 

Government Mohindra College finished second after registering a 46-22 win over Khalsa College, Patiala. University College, Dhilwan, secured third position. Former Olympian and chief guest Trilok Singh gave away the prizes to the winners.

The tournament was conducted under the overall supervision of Prof Amarpreet Singh of the Punjabi University Patiala. 

Mohindra College Principal Sukhbir Singh Thind presented the welcome address, while Head of Physical Education Department Kamla Sharma proposed the vote of thanks. 

Prof Jagdev Singh, Prof Ranjit Tiwana, Prof PS Sodhi, Dr SS Rekhi, Prof Baljinder Singh Bursar, Prof Taranjit, tournament officials Jasbir Singh, Jatinder Dhindsa, Gursev Singh and coaches of different institutions were present on the occasion.
