Gursobha steals the show

Mohali lad Gursobha Singh, 17, added another feather to his cap by winning five gold and two silver medals on the concluding day of the Punjab Horse Show and the National Tent Pegging Championship (March 8-13) at the Punjab Armed Police grounds in Jalandhar.

Riding his mare ‘Connie Briton’, the class XII student of the Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, won the medals in different high jump events. Singh trains under the guidance of Col. Sarpartap Singh, a Chandigarh-based Equestrian coach and judge. 

He has an equestrian facility at village Makkran in Mohali. The final day witnessed Six Bar Show Jumping events, where the riders jumped over a row of six fences. Riders from National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, ASC Centre North, Punjab Police and Haryana Police participated in the show.
