Spotted at the Tressed Up Academy’s session on beauty trends, Punjabi film actress Razia Sukhbir, who has been the brand ambassador for the academy, elaborates upon the beauty trends and the make-up in Punjabi film industry. Says Heena Khan, CEO of Tressed Up Academy, “Our motive was to create awareness among small saloons on latest beauty industry trends.”
Razia Sukhbir, who has acted in popular TV serial Nadaan Parinde, Maan Sanmaan, a Hindi film, and many Punjabi films, including Ik Kudi Punjab Di, Akhiyan Udeek Diyan and Jatt Boys, shares that she is all set for her new film, “We have finished shooting for a Punjabi film titled Delhi to Lahore, where I am playing the main lead. It is all set to release in March this year,” she says. While talking about the make-up in Punjabi films, which is mostly done to add glamour quotient rather than defining the physical traits of the character, Razia shares that because of the low budget, the actors sometimes have to compromise on make-up products. “When in Bollywood films you have to show a fight in a puddle of mud, they sometimes use chocolate, but in Punjabi films, we have to settle for the puddle of mud only,” she laughs.
As she talks of beauty trends, she shares that what lies on the surface does not matter, because according to her beauty is skin-deep. “When we are in front of the camera, we apply a lot of make-up, but what really matters is the face that comes out after the make up has been removed,” she shares. While stressing on using high quality skincare products, she adds, “It’s important to have a healthy skin.”
