A strikingly interesting concoction of style and sensibility, Veepasha Kashyap’s fashion sense stands dictated by her knowledge on the subjects that she was trained in at The Pearl Fashion Academy, Delhi. A Chandigarh-based fashion stylist, Veepasha, 22, is quite a breath of fresh air as she plays on the idea of fashion with a deliberate ease and effortlessness that borders on the edge of excess that is sufficiently stylish!

Describe your sense of style…

According to me, a person is truly stylish when they experiment with trends, play around them with flair, thereby accentuating it with a portion of their own personality. I like to dress in a simple and elegant manner. However, a bit of drama works too, as long as it’s subtle.

What’s the latest addition in your wardrobe?

Recently, I bought an outerwear with a funnel collar!

Brand freak or street smart?

Comfort and fit are two ‘must haves’ for me, so it really doesn’t matter if it is from a branded store or street shop. I believe that one must wear something that complements their body type.

Choose one—sporty, glamorous or chic

Chic.

Your style icon …

I like Angelina Jolie, Deepika Padukone, Audrey Hepburn, and Victoria Beckham.

Who, according to you, is the worst dressed celebrity?

I would say it is Parineeti Chopra because she still does not have the sense of wearing garments according to her body type.

One fashion trend you don’t understand…

I would really want to get the long, baggy shorts and alphabet jewellery off the racks. Though alphabet jewellery looks cool for the first minute, it gets quite awkward if you look at it even a second more. I guess jewellery does not need to be read.

Your take on accessories…

I wear minimal jewellery, but I want my jewellery pieces to make a statement. I often settle for a cocktail ring or a neckpiece as it looks great with a simple dress.

One thing that boosts your confidence…

The only thing that boosts my confidence is family, positive thoughts and constant learning through education.

You would love to be dressed up by….

I would love to get dressed up by Anaita Shroff.

One fragrance that you can swear by…

There are two actually, Burberry and Gucci!

(As told to Amarjot Kaur)
