Star Cricketer Yuvraj Singh tied the knot with UK model-turned-actress Hazel Keech at Dera Tahli Sahib of Sant Ram Singh Ganduan in village Daferra, Fatehgarh Sahib, this evening. Dressed in red Sherwani, Yuvraj arrived in black Mercedes Benz at about 4.30 pm and his cavalcade entered the shrine from the backdoor while media persons and bouncers engaged for the security of the couple kept waiting at the main gate. However, as soon as Yuvraj's car changed route, bouncers rushed towards the backside entry.
Both Yuvraj and Hazel, who was dressed in red-coloured traditional lehnga and choli, entered the main room of the dera and stayed there for about 20 minutes before they took the blessings of Sant Ganduan. They then moved towards the sanctum sanctorum of the beautifully decorated Gurdwara located in the dera complex. The couple was accompanied by Yuvraj's mother Shabnam Singh, brother Zoravar Singh, and Hazel's father and brother along with other relatives and friends. However, bridegroom's father Yograj Singh was conspicuous with his absence.
The Anand Karaj (marriage ceremony) was performed by Dera head Sant Ram Singh Ganduan, which continued for about 40 minutes. About the delayed timing of the Anand Karaj, Sant Ganduan said that there was no time fixed for the marriage in the dera as the dera respected all the religions. There was a stampede-like situation as hundreds of people from the nearby area gathered at the dera complex to have a look of the newly wedded couple. Even though the Yuvraj's family had kept the occasion a low-key affair with only close relatives and friends present at the wedding ceremony, hundreds of people, including fans of the cricketer, had arrived since morning.
God bless
While entire cricket fraternity is in the pre-wedding hangover of Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech, Braham Gyani Sant Ram Singh from Gurdwara Fategarh Sahib, Punjab, showered his blessing on the couple and congratulated both, ahead of their wedding today.
Yuvi and Hazel had a star-studded pre-wedding ceremony on Tuesday in Mohali.
After winning the third Test match against England, inside four days, Team India graced the occasion with great zeal. Coach Anil Kumble, captain Virat Kohli, Murali Vijay, Parthiv Patel, Ishant Sharma, Ashish Nehra, Mohammad Kaif, former India captain Kapil Dev, PCA officials, commentator Gautam Bhimani, were the prominent people in the guest list. Ayushmann Khurrana and Angad Bedi were also there. —ANI
