It’s been quite an effort to catch singer  Navv Inder for an interview. Speak to people in his team and they’ll say, “You see, he has emerged from his studio after a day, he has been working very hard.”

Try telling the singer and he discounts, “Really?” Well, yes. Having achieved a significant amount of fame and fans, so what next is he working so hard for? “For the time being, I just want to sing, sing and satisfy the singing bug in me,” he laughs, while in Chandigarh for the promotions of his latest single Tu Meri Ki Lagdi.

Girls? Umm...well...

Having garnered quite a female fan following, it’s a status update they will be interested in. So is he single? A question he instantly replies to. “Yes.” Perhaps, happily single. He laughs, “Well, you see, there’s no time for a girlfriend.”

But there ought to be a specimen, or anybody he admires and has a crush on? “Deepika Padukone.” Are you listening Deepika?

My idea of a perfect date...

Though not quite ready to mingle at the moment, but his idea of a perfect date is, “A nice quiet dinner with my girl.”

Bohemia, Honey Singh...anybody else

Having already collaborated with Badshah on quite a few songs, is any other rapper on his radar? “Bohemia is the first ever Punjabi rapper, I would really like to work with him. So hopefully something works out very soon.” There are some singers he has really admired all along. “I am a huge of Babbu Mann and have listened to all of Amrinder Gill’s numbers too.”

Acting? Hold on

Moving on, so has he watched any of his movies? “I’m not much into movies. That is why acting also is certainly not on the agenda right now. I don’t watch movies also. Moreover, in Punjabi movies they show rural life which we’ve lived all our lives. So there’s no novelty factor there,” he laughs.

Shhh...Please don’t disclose

A little hesitant to let us in on his plans; “Well, I am working on a very significant late singer’s renditions.” After much prodding, he confides in us the name of the singer, but certainly not the song. That would be giving in way too much. “You see, there are copycats everywhere. It’s just the idea I’m trying to guard.”
