Rupali Jagga aims for nothing less than a Grammy! Having learnt classical music for almost nine years, Rupali had set her eyes on the singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa as the first step towards realising her dream; she has successfully sailed through auditions too. A student of MCM DAV College, Chandigarh this girl from Saharanpur, who is now one of the top 12 finalists on the reality show, loves every bit of the toil on the sets.
So far so good
“My training in classical music has helped me sail through the different levels of auditions,” says the 20-year-old who has been learning music from Nidhi Narang of Agra gharana. Rupali loves to sing peppy and western Bollywood numbers on stage. So far she has sung songs by Asha Bhosle that have won her the love of audience, and accolades by the judges.
Mika bhaji the great
Rupali is in Mika’s team, and she is happy that her style of singing matches her mentor’s style. “Gone are the days when just good singing would get you work, today, a singer has to be a show stealer as well,” says the girl who wants to be a good playback singer of Bollywood, and perform live across the globe. “In Mika bhaji, I have found a true supporter, watch out for my duet with him that is slated to be aired soon,” she shares.
Looking ahead
Rupali is hoping to launch her career with this platform, “Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Goshal are products of reality shows, Sonu Nigam hosted this show, imagine if I were to join the league too,” says the dreamy-eyed girl in Chandigarh on Monday.
