Mango masti

Summer is here and with it comes the roller coaster ride of the succulent king of fruits — the mango, which unfolds its different varieties through the season, each having its own piquant taste — some big, some small. Our dread of the coming hot summer months is softened by the yellow fruit laden ‘rehris’ decorating the streets. So, lets start the season with the some mango yummies. As the fruit itself is so delicious we just need to add a little more to make a tempting dessert.

Nutty mango cream

Ingredients

  • 3 mangoes
  •  1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground aniseed
  • 100 gms brown sugar
  • Pinch salt 
  • 200 ml cream
  • 3 tbsp ground hazelnut/walnut
  • Mango wedges and lemon balm, to garnish

Method

  • Peel and cut the mangoes in half. Remove the stone and chop the mango. Blend mango along with cinnamon, sugar and salt.
  • Puree with a hand blender. Stir the cream and nuts into the mango puree.
  • Pour the mixture into little dessert cups and chill in the refrigerator.
  • Garnish with mango wedges and lemon balm;  serve chilled.
