A hairline fracture, a ligament tear and a Patella dislocation might have ended the three weeks stint with Bigg Boss 9. But they weren’t reasons enough for Gizele Thakral to tick off television from among her favourite mediums.

The Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 actress is done with a fair share of physio sessions, bed rest and getting well. “I was down and out for a while, but you will soon see me in a lot of things,” she shares, before talking about her upcoming web series Badman Gulshan Grover.

“It’s a story which talks about a villain turning hero at 60 and the best part is that I get to play myself, which is Gizele, a little exaggerated version of myself though.”

That would be, a hot girl. She laughs, “Initially I was a little annoyed because I am not like that in real life. But they wanted someone who is hot.”

So how does it feel to be hot?

Does it often overshadow every other talent or aspect? “Absolutely it does.” She adds, “Sometimes it irritates because all they can see is this hot girl. But it is also a compliment at the end of the day. Though I feel if you have more of girl-next-door looks, you end up getting a more variety of roles than if you look hot.”

Films, television, modelling, theatre...

Having dabbled in all the mediums starting from the age of 14, “when I won Miss Rajasthan contest and started modelling and even stayed in places like Germany for a year-and-a-half,” it is films that satisfy creativity the most. “I realized there is no substance to modelling, what you are doing on the ramp is a designer’s creativity. Whereas in films, you work for three months, get to be somebody else and then pack up.”

If it weren’t for the back-breaking hard work that television and reality shows entail, it would figure on top of the list and not second. “I love watching television myself so I like this medium the second most.”

While a dream role, “would be some really interesting and emotional love story on the lines of Devdas or kick-ass action like in Charlie’s Angels,” she’s next signed a three-film deal with Balaji and there will be two Youtube stories as well.
