Ranbir to step into Raj Kapoor’s Japani shoes

Imagine Ranbir Kapoor in his grandfather Raj Kapoor’s Englishtani pants and Japani shoes.

The 33-year-old actor will be portraying Raj Kapoor in a biopic that will be produced under the family’s banner RK Films.

“It is the Kapoor khandaan’s most cherished project. They’ve wanted to make a biopic on Raj saab for the longest time. Until Ranbir became an actor they couldn’t think of anyone who could fit the bill. Now, the project is finally getting shape,” said a source very close to the Kapoor family.

Ranbir has been fascinated with Raj Kapoor’s work and knows them inside-out.Reportedly, Randhir and Rishi Kapoor want to revive the RK Films banner, which has been dormant for years now, with the biopic.

“Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor would like to revive the banner with a biopic on the legendary actor Raj Kapoor. The brothers are in agreement. They feel Ranbir is the best person to play Raj saab,” revealed a member from the Kapoor clan. —ANI
