Tuscany is the region that gave us artists like Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. While we don’t know their food preferences, we sure have heard tales on how they loved liquor! Now if you want a taste of this culturally rich region, Oregano is your place to be.
Culling traditional flavours from this central part of Italy, Chef Alessio Banchero has prepared a special menu. “Florence is one place that sees many Indian visitors. Many of our patrons have been and enjoyed food at Tuscany, so here we roll out our Tuscan promotion,” shares Chef Alessio.
The pre-set menu comes as a four-course meal with choice of appetisers, pasta and main course and dessert. The non-vegetarians can enjoy Crostini Al Fegato E Prosciutto Crudo Con Gnocco Fritto, which is basically chicken liver fritto. In pasta there is a choice of Tortelli Di Patate Al Funghi – ravioli filled with potatoes in mushroom sauce or Pappardelle All’aretina — broad pasta noodles with duck flavours. The main course is Agnello Con Piselli Alla Fiorentina – lamb and green pea stew, the only dish that comes close to our home cuisine.
In desserts, you got to take a dig in Affogato Al Cioccolato — vanilla ice-cream with hot chocolate sauce floater.
Well, here you can enjoy the flavours without a worry. While the non-veg set menu is priced at 1,650 plus taxes, the veggie one is for Rs 1,250 plus taxes. And, yes, not to forget, pair the food with delectable Tuscan wines. Chef Alessio recommends Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino.
(On at Oregano, JW Marriott, from 7:30 to 11:30 pm till June 14)
