If you are on the wrong side of 50s, and could not help but silently whisper to yourself ‘this is the life’ when a bunch of young at heart sexagenarians take a vow to make themselves the focus of their lives in the critically-acclaimed movie Lage Raho Munna Bhai, you now have a chance to live the scene in real life!

For, as Antara Senior Living’s director community development, Kenneth Sannoo, puts it, he is here to issue a clarion call to people heading towards their autumn years, to “live to the fullest, the next chapter of your well-lived life.”

In Chandigarh to announce the arrival of residential community Antara Senior Living, to cater to customised requirements of senior citizens, Kenneth shares, “The concept of senior living community has swiftly gained acceptance in India.”

Safe haven

To keep misconceptions at bay, Kenneth explains that Antara Senior Living is not an old-age home, but a safe haven “to facilitate your journey into autumn years by delivering customised services of a varied lifestyle.” He shares that people who have been used to living an active lifestyle, feel life loses meaning post retirement. And to keep at bay, the quintessential bouts of depression which plague one during old age.

He admits that the concept shares correlations with the Sanjay Dutt starrer, and adds that “the best part is, that unlike the second innings house in Lage Raho Munnabhai, where old people are ‘kicked out’ of their houses by callous children, denizens of Antara apartments will embrace their independent life out of their own volition to live life their way.”

Healthy lifestyle is a must

According to Kenneth, age becomes just a number when one leads a vibrant and active lifestyle. He observes that in line with his view, the residential community aims at encouraging healthy lifestyle habits by delivering life-care services.

Set to open its gateway towards the end of this year, the community nestled in Dehradun houses 200 apartments.
